A short drive away is the busy fishing village of Mallaig and about 30 minutes drive away is Glenfinnan with its spectacular views down Loch Shiel and the viaduct (of Harry Potter fame).
Situated in middle of the west highland village of Arisaig on the road to the isles This 200 year old former school was built by Clanranald and sits next to the Church of Scotland which was built at the same time.
The School was in use up until the late 1980”s and was purchased by the present owners Frank Anne Baillie in 1990 who renovated the building and converted the school into part of the main house.
We are only about 5 minutes walk from Arisaig railway station - Scotland's most westerly station. We are also only a few minutes walk from Arisaig Marina which has daily sailings to the islands of Eigg, Muck and Rum. throughout the summer. The busy fishing village of Mallaig is a 10 min drive away and from there the ferry goes to Skye daily.
The area around Arisaig has wonderful scenery and offers lots for walkers and bird watchers etc. Our small “Land sea and island centre” gives lots of information about the area past and present as well as up to date info of what is on in the area.
